Jesse Waters has been a resident of Aiken since 2010 along with his wife, April, and two sons William and Jackson. Jesse attended the US Merchant Marine Academy with a congressional nomination from the Hon. Floyd Spence. Following his 2005 graduation, with a BS in Marine Transportation & a USCG 3rd Mate’s license, Jesse entered service in the US Army commissioning as a 2nd LT. During his three and a half years on active duty, he was stationed at Ft. Eustis, VA with a combat deployment to Afghanistan as the S-4 (Logistics Officer) for a provincial reconstruction team assigned the north eastern province of Nuristan.
In 2009, Jesse left the Army as a Captain to pursue a slightly more stable career in the offshore oil industry. He started out working in Louisiana, then transitioned to drilling rigs for Diamond Offshore. During the next 9 years, he traveled and worked in such places as Singapore, South Africa, Brazil, Korea & the US GOM.
Jesse, being a life long horseman, decided that he needed something more local to keep him home with his wife and children. In January of 2019, he completed the purchase of Banks Mill Feeds in Aiken from Mr. Charlie Herrick. Since taking over the mill he has strived to put his mark on the company, stay dedicated to the roots of the company, and continue to innovate for the future. He now devotes most of his time to his family, church, farm, and businesses, as well as staying active with Belle Meade Hunt.
