Meghan Benge comes to Great Oak as a lifelong equestrian who began her journey with horses at a therapeutic riding center, SIRE, in her hometown of Houston, Texas. After effectively graduating from the therapeutic riding center, Meghan competed with her ponies in hunter shows, then switched to driving. She was a Team Bronze medalist at the 2002 World Para Driving Championships and following that was Individual Gold and Team Silver medalist at the 2008 World Para Driving Championships in Germany. Meghan has also competed to the international level in abled bodied combined driving. In 2017, Meghan made the switch to para dressage and is now a developing athlete in the United States Equestrian Federation’s para dressage program and competes at the international level with her ponies, Zoey and Worth the Trip. Meghan is a 2009 graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design and is excited to come full circle as Great Oak’s office and communications coordinator.
